The Most Expensive Toilet.

We can go any where we want to really, men more than women. A tree, a secluded place, when we need to go, we need to go!

In 2008 NASA sent a toilet to the  International Space Station, which at £19 million makes it the mot expensive in the world. It replaced one that had broken several times.

A close runner up is the solid gold toilet in Hong Kong Jewellers, Hang Fong. It was made when gold was relatively low in price and due to be melted down when gold retained a good market value. It’s now worth £5 million and it still remains, so drink some water and get there while you can!

Donut Seeds. That Is All.

seeds for donuts

The mighty donut has served us well for many years however no-one is overly sure who invented them.

It is thought to have come with Dutch settlers in North America as they also brought cookies! We love the Dutch!!  American Hanson Gregory is reported to have invented the ring donut in 1847 when he was only 16 years old. The donut is first mentioned in an English cookery book in 1806, listed under American recipes. Wherever it came from, we think it maybe wasn’t seeds.

A Cat That Thinks It’s A Meercat

Meercats and their “simples” catchphrase has infiltrated EVERYTHING. It even infiltrated the English language so much it was placed Top of a list of words of 2009.

The top 10 list of ‘words of 2009′ by Susie Dent of The Oxford English Press placed “simples” at the top, closely followed by Jeggings, Tweetup and Staycation.  Sadly these words have no permanence in the english language and will not make it into the dictionary. Boo!

I Ain’t Afraid Of No Ghost….

Ghostbusters was THE film of 1984. Every kid wanted to be a ghostbuster and every adult did too! Mt StayPuff was an iconic character back then, he was brought to life in the film as the demonic God type figure Gozer. He was destroyed by the ghostbusters because for all intents and purposes he was a ghost.

What The Eye Sees, The Mind Believes….

Why do we always believe what we see? It’s inherent in us that we believe what our eyes show us. But 8 % of males are colour blind, typically unable to differentiate between red and green. It’s less common in females, a mere 0.4% have it.

Why does it affect a higher percentage of men?

Because the capacity for colour vision is located on the X chromosome, women have two of these and men only one. This makes a womans chance of inheriting an X chromosome with colour vision higher than mens.
