I just made a blog for my wife on another domain of mine, she loves cooking and grows her own herbs in inside window boxes - so she has plenty to blog about!
I on the other hand am working more and more with search engine optimisation and monetisation of websites, so it seemed a perfect solution for us to share the work and have a wee hobby that may even earn us some rainy day pennies.
We only decided last night that we should create a blog for her recipes, reviews of other recipes, kitchen tips in general and reviews of kitchen appliances she tries out and uses. Wordpress was quick and relatively painless to install, as was the theme and the couple of addons we decided on getting, the only one that is still causing me some problems is the widget extension as the theme we are using doesn’t have a sidebar that is created with ul elements.
Google analytics and adsense are switched on, we’re registered with technorati and waiting with baited breath to see what is in store for our wee project!
I may even write on mrs.emecks.com myself to review our coffee machine, which gets very well used when I work from home
Whilst Mrs Emecks continues to add content to her blog, I will be optimising the blog and experimenting with different monetisation methods, my findings will be posted here from time to time too for anyone who is trying similar to read.
